Jawahar Lal Nehru Port Trust

The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) at Navi Mumbai is the premier container handling port in India, accounting for around 50% of the total containerized cargo volume across the major ports of India. Commissioned on 26th May 1989, JNPA has transformed from a bulk-cargo terminal to the country’s premier container port. JNPA is connected to over 200 ports worldwide and ranked 26th in the list of top 100 Container Ports globally. Jawaharlal Nehru Port is located along the eastern shore of Bombay Harbour on the east side of Elephanta Island.

The scope of work for the project involved securely dismantling and breaking the mangled steel of crane wrecks into small sections for safe and easy handling, collecting, and loading into trucks or trailers for transportation to assigned storage locations using suitable equipment and experienced manpower. The project was completed within a period of 6 months and adhered to all safety regulations and protocols.

To begin the project, the Symcom Exim team carried out a thorough site assessment to identify potential risks and hazards. The team worked closely with the project managers at Jawahar Lal Nehru Port Trust Mumbai to ensure that all safety protocols and regulations were strictly followed throughout the project.
